The ALCOLN school workspace

Clear daily routines.
Useful school oversight.

Nine connected areas help staff find their next action and school leaders follow up the work that matters. Use your own curriculum, calendar and school routines.

01

School overview

See what needs attention.

Start with registers to finish, outstanding responsibilities and approval requests. Open a class or staff member to inspect the relevant records, responsibilities and timetable.

Summaries come from saved records. Pending offline changes are identified separately so local work is not mistaken for server-confirmed completion.

02

Attendance & pupil records

A clearer register. One tick.

Choose the class and school-local date. Tick once for Present, or use the all-present-and-save action. Changes save automatically; Absent, Late and notes remain available in extra options. An unticked pupil stays Not marked.

Eligible days respect school settings and enrolment. Corrections retain their history; summaries disclose missing marks and attendance calculations. Authorised users can export or print a summary.

03

Tasks & responsibilities

Clear responsibilities. Less chasing.

Select and edit starter responsibilities, then preview the dates and assignments. Give a task to a person, class or both. Recurring work creates separate dated occurrences and skips existing duplicates.

Staff have clear To do, Done, Overdue and Not due yet states. A planning tick records a staff declaration, not an evaluation of teaching quality. Attendance completion comes from the actual saved register.

04

Timetables & school calendar

A school week that works together.

Use your own periods, breaks, preschool routines and staff availability. Generate one repeating weekly schedule with class, staff and school views. Required sessions stay accounted for and unplaced sessions remain visible.

A complete schedule must pass compulsory validation. Preferences cannot override clashes or availability; a search time limit does not prove impossibility. Draft changes preserve the approved timetable. A school calendar also brings term, trip and examination dates together.

05

Examination preparation

Be ready before examination day.

Choose the internal-examination checklist for setting the paper, reviewing it and preparing secure copies, rooms and materials. Give each responsibility an editable target date and staff assignment.

External-examination templates cover official instructions, candidate entries, access arrangements, timetable/invigilation and permitted materials. Schools verify current board or centre requirements separately. No examination-board affiliation, paper engine, marks or grading is claimed.

06

Parent connection

Keep family information connected.

Verify identity, relationship and consent authority before creating a parent account. Give a private one-use activation slip and publish welcome information inside the account. Parents see only their linked children.

Publish specific trip requests and follow explicit consent, declined, withdrawn or missing responses. Revised details require renewed consent; conflicting guardian decisions need review. Essential allergy/contact updates are encrypted and require school review. Authorised pupil, class or school reports can be exported or printed. These features need connectivity; email/SMS/WhatsApp delivery is not configured.

07

Staff learning

Make development part of the routine.

Assign available courses and due dates in ALCOLN’s integrated LMS. Staff read concise lessons, save progress and complete knowledge checks with the same account. Administrators review recorded status and completion dates.

Explore 260 written microcourses with lessons, practical activities and knowledge checks, plus 40 written policy starters. School administrators adapt and review a policy before assigning its exact version for acknowledgement. Self-study completion is not accreditation or a professional qualification.

08

House teams & belonging

Build participation across the school.

Set house numbers and names, review surname suggestions and confirm pupils who should remain together or apart. Add locked placements, maximum size and captain/staff eligibility before generating a draft.

Count and class balance are preferences; confirmed hard rules are independently checked. Review the roster and any warnings before approval. The approved roster stays available while editing. Points require a reason and corrections use a single reversal, preserving history. House appointments grant no account permissions.

09

Reports & oversight

Useful records. Informed follow-up.

Generate supported attendance, responsibility, consent, learning and pupil-information reports using authorised scope. Save CSV or print/save PDF where available. Keep sensitive copies secure and use the detail to guide school follow-up.

School administrators can delegate named capabilities, review approval requests and choose activity notifications. Change histories record significant actions. Permissions, school boundaries and class assignments are enforced by the server.

Start with what helps your school now.

Guided setup, import templates and ready-made responsibilities support a gradual introduction. Staff and parent usernames do not require an email address. Extra staff capabilities remain controlled by school administrators.

Practical offline working.

On a trusted device, download an authorised working copy while online. Attendance and assigned tasks can be saved locally in supported browsers. Approved timetables and previously downloaded announcements remain available. Changes stay pending until server confirmation; conflicts require review. Copies expire after 24 hours.

Parent information and consent, account changes, shared updates and staff learning need connectivity.

A clear pilot offering.

School tools, onboarding, a configurable staff allowance and selected available CPD courses form the initial manually managed school subscription. Pricing is not yet published and no payment is taken here. There is no pupil grading, payroll or fee-management system in this version.
